The map leading to the treasure was left to Abahachi by his deceased grandfather (also Herbig, in the extended "Extra Large" version), and in a drunken bout following his demise it was divided into four parts, which were distributed among Abahachi himself his effeminate gay twin brother Winnetouch (also Herbig), the proprietor of a beauty ranch Abahachi's Greek friend Dimitri ( Rick Kavanian) and his former "hough school" honey - and Ranger's fledgling love interest - Ursula ("Uschi"). Stinking Lizard believes Santa Maria's claims that Abahachi and Ranger killed the chief's son, and upon their return to the Shoshone tribe, the two find themselves unjustly charged with murder.īound to two stakes and awaiting their execution, Abahachi remembers, during a squabble with Ranger, a secret treasure kept inside a large, shoe-shaped rock called Manitou's Shoe (a reference to Treasure of the Silver Lake), which Abahachi intends to recover in order to reimburse Stinking Lizard. Santa Maria kills Stinking Lizard's son ("Falscher Hase " in the German original - "Fake Hare", a German colloquial expression for meatloaf), who was supposed to deliver the loan. When they aim to buy a pub with the monetary help of Shoshone chief Stinking Lizard ("Listiger Lurch" in the German original - "Cunning Amphibian") through supposed Wyoming real estate agent Santa Maria ( Sky du Mont), the deal as well as the pub, which turns out to be just a prop-up facade, collapse. Just be sure to not have any discs in when you do this for it to work.Abahachi ( Michael Herbig), chief of the Apache, and his blood brother Ranger ( Christian Tramitz) are an inseparable pair since Ranger saved Abahachi from a speeding train at an unguarded railroad crossing. I'm gonna menction that this does work on my MDV458 DVD player.

Region code hack posted by anonymous coward, January 01 2006: BTW, I got my Magnavox MDV458/17 from Best Buy in Portland Oregon in late November 2004. With this region hack, it allows me to play them all. I just bought Kung-Fu Hustle and House of Flying Daggers DVD online. Region code hack posted by wooster, February 23 2005: In your menu preferences on this player, don't worry about setting to MULTI, you can keep it in NTSC format. And the discs are REGION 0 PAL as I mentioned above. I just received the complete 3rd Rock from the Sun episodes from the UK and it would play on my Sony unit that doesn't have hack compatibility.

I also wanted to add, if you get DVD's that are PAL REGION 0, you should be able to play those on most machines anyway. This hack does work so thank you very much. Other hack posted by nexpose9095, January 12 2005:

All DVDs played without problems, and since the DVDs are PAL system and my TV is a NTSC TV it appearently also converts from PAL to NTSC, at least I coudn't notice any stretching of the movies. I tried the german DVDs (PAL) "Der Schuh des Manitu (Extra Large)" and "Zurück in die Zukunft 1-3". Press "System Menu" key to exit Set Up menu. Change region using arrow keys to top or down. Press the following sequence in the remote control: 135566 - A menu indicating "Region Code" will appear. Move to "Preference Page" using arrow keys to the left or to the right. Press "System Menu" key to enter Set Up menu. I exactly did the following: - Press "Power" to turn on the player. I can confirm that the region hack posted by JonVoit (August 29, 2004) works for this DVD-Player. The box only shows MDV458 but on one of the barcode labels the Model No.

Circuit City calls it MDV45817 or MDV458/17 on their website. I have just bought a Magnavox MDV458 at Circuit City in Illinois, USA.
